This remarkable species can be found dwelling in the hills and lowland forests of Southeast Asia, specifically in Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Singapore.
The melodious symphony produced by this bird consists of a sequence of pleasantly high-pitched coos, gradually increasing in volume and pace, which eventually transition into equally resounding whistles.
To create their nests, these birds skillfully fashion a pear-shaped structure using a combination of moss and leaves, suspending them high among the branches of trees.
Regrettably, the Black and Yellow Broadbill is currently classified as a “near threatened” species on the IUCN Red List, primarily due to extensive deforestation practices.
