The golden parrot-billed babbler is one of the smallest of the parrot-billed babblers (about 11cm). The bird has light buff-brown crest, nape and back, prominent white brood and underbelly stripes, black throat and buff-brown underparts with white mid-belly. Males and females are similar.

Golden parrotbill is one of the smallest species in the parrotbill group (about 11 cm). It has buffy-rufous crown, nape and back, distinctive narrow white supercilium, white malar areas, black throat and rufous-buff with whitish center underparts. Male and female are similar.
